Bloomsbury bouquet cake decoration

Candied orange peel

Red glace pears

Yellow glace pears

Red glace cherries

Mauve jelly beans

Black sugar balls

Edible glue

This cake tastes great as there is no icing involved and all the flowers are made of fruit and sweets. You need to consider which would be good for what; the cores of the pears look like stamens and the orange peel makes great petals. The leaves are made of either angelica or glace kiwis and the stems and vase from marzipan tinted with food colouring. The addition of the black sugar balls is a design trick to add a bit more depth and impact.
